The engine is a 15hp 1923 Wolseley but My friend could not find model number. I wonder if there are other magnetos which would fit. The wd8 in the Roger May Museum at Pinjara is identical to mine but the magnetos are of a different brand.

No it's a ZU4 I will try and find the model of my friend's Wolseley motor because maybe there are other magnetos which could be substituted

Thanks Richard - I've joined a group of enthusiasts who are volunteers for the Pinjara vintage machinery museum. Pinjara is about 100 k's south of Perth. They have one Wolseley Stationary engine there which is set up to run a generator. I'll go & give them a hand every week & they are encouraging me...

Thanks Richard - The engine number is 44376. On the brass plate is says 2.25 - 3 HP. 1000 - 1200 RPM

W8 Magneto

My WD8 makes a clicking sound when I wind it with the crank handle and with the plug out I can see that I have spark. However if I wind it to a faster speed the clicking sound stops and spark disappears. Any ideas folks.
